Measuring
Hints
If
you do not know your usual size fittings, you may need to
get somebody to measure you. We are members of the
Hire
Network,
an organisation of independently run menswear hire outlets.
Any member in your local area will be pleased to assist.
Just ask for details.
Chest:
Measure around the chest keeping the tape well up under the arms and
over the shoulder blades. Do not measure tightly and do not expand your
chest.
Sleeve:
With the arm hanging by your side, measure it's length from the outside
edge of your shoulder to the wrist and hand joint.
Waist:
Measure around where you usually like your trousers to fit. PLEASE BE
HONEST WITH THIS ONE!
Inside
leg: Without shoes on, measure from the crotch to the floor. Alternatively,
lay flat a pair of trousers that fit you well and measure these.
Hat:
It is best to ask your local men's formal
wear shop to size your hat if you don't already know your hat size.
Otherwise, measure around the head just above the top of the ears.
Shirt:
Your normal collar size is best, otherwise, measure around the neck,
leaving about ½ inch or 1cm for movement. |
